Journey to our final idea
The Process
Our initial idea was to print the entire cup with a heating element beneath.

However, it was very ambitious and we found out that that would be very inconvenient as it would be too heavy and difficult to wash which goes against the feedback of our target group.

We learnt that innovating from an existing product would be better and can help to differentiate us from others.

We then wanted to include a variety of designs on the cup but we found out in Makers' Academy that almost nothing can go on silicone material.

We also wanted to 3D print three different sections which was a cup holder insulator, cup stabiliser, and convenience ring.

In the end, we just decided to make a reversible one which is more convenient.

____________
Our final idea was the actual cup itself.

We also added the customisable option to make it more personal to attract the users as one of the feedback given was that they wanted to feel special.

Through a few failed designs, we developed this cup with the 3D printed reversible cup holder and convenience ring.
